Constructed in 1934 as part of post-earthquake reconstruction efforts, the Yokohama Customs building captivates passersby with its eclectic blend of Moorish, Romanesque, and Indian architectural flourishes. Nicknamed the “Queen’s Tower” after the playing card, its exotic turquoise-domed minaret once made it the tallest structure in the city. Together with the nearby “King” and “Jack” towers, it forms an iconic maritime trio that is best admired from the sweeping promenade of Ōsanbashi Pier.
