Standing just 112 meters high, Mount Kasayama offers an accessible volcanic adventure on a coastal peninsula just north of Hagi. At its summit lies a surprisingly neat crater only 30 meters wide, which you can easily encircle along a walking path or descend directly into via a short flight of stairs. An observation deck provides sweeping panoramic views over the glittering Sea of Japan and scattered coastal islands. Complete your visit by exploring the picturesque, tranquil pond nestled near the volcano's base.
