Tozan Shrine

JJJ KKK via Google Maps

Nestled in the heart of Japan's porcelain capital, Tozan Shrine (also known as Sueyama Shrine) offers a breathtaking tribute to local artisanal heritage. Unlike typical Shinto sites, its torii gate, guardian beasts, and lanterns are rendered in exquisite blue-and-white and gold-glazed Arita porcelain. Visitors cross an active railway track to ascend the grounds, where a hilltop memorial honors Yi Sam-Pyeong, the father of Arita ware. The elevated vantage point provides sweeping, picturesque views over the kiln chimneys and surrounding mountains.
