R yu via Google Maps

With roots stretching back to the 10th century, the Tenjin Festival is revered as one of Japan’s three greatest traditional celebrations. Held annually on July 24 and 25, the lively event honors Sugawara no Michizane, the deity of scholarship, through elaborate portable shrine rituals and vibrant costumed parades. The grand finale on July 25 features a magnificent fleet of lantern-lit boats cruising the Okawa River beneath a breathtaking fireworks display. It is an electrifying summer spectacle that captures the quintessential warmth, energy, and rich cultural heritage of Osaka.
