Built between the third and sixth centuries as the final resting place of Emperor Nintoku, Daisen Kofun is a monumental keyhole-shaped tumulus stretching over 1,500 feet in length. Part of the historic Mozu Tumulus cluster, this ancient forest-covered earthwork is fortified by three tranquil moats that safeguard centuries of imperial mystique. While the sacred interior remains sealed from the public, visitors can stroll along the perimeter walking paths to take in the sheer grandeur of the forested sanctuary and its surrounding waters.
