Located just southwest of Uwajima Castle, Tenshaen Garden was established in 1866 as a tranquil retreat for the local feudal lords of the Date Clan. The garden is meticulously landscaped around a scenic central pond, offering picturesque vistas that transform gracefully with each passing season. At its heart stands Harusametei, an atmospheric pavilion once favored by the lord for practicing calligraphy. Today, visitors can enjoy a quiet, contemplative walk along stone paths framed by delicate wisteria trellises, irises, and bamboo.
