Celebrated for centuries as one of Japan's three greatest scenic vistas, Amanohashidate is a natural sandbar blanketed by thousands of lush pine trees in northern Kyoto Prefecture. Stretching over three kilometers across Miyazu Bay, it creates a striking natural bridge between land and sea. When viewed upside down through one's legs from the mountain viewpoints at either end, the isthmus famously resembles a majestic green bridge ascending directly into heaven. Visitors can leisurely bike or walk beneath the pine canopy, relax on its beaches, or ride cable cars to surrounding observation decks for spectacular coastal panoramas.
