Inside, the walls are covered with charming illustrations, figurines, and wooden ema prayer plaques featuring the whiting fish traditionally offered to its deity. Beyond its fever-dispelling blessings, the surrounding grounds host unique stone memorials dedicated to consumed bonito fish, discarded kitchen knives, and colorful zodiac paintings.
