Located just outside the hot spring town of Shirogane Onsen, the Blue Pond captivates visitors with its striking, naturally vibrant cobalt waters. Created as part of an erosion control system for nearby Mount Tokachidake, dissolved volcanic minerals now give the water its mesmerizing, otherworldly glow. Submerged, leafless birch and larch trees rise from the surface, creating an enchanting and ever-shifting landscape through the seasons.
